Step 1: Cast your characters
Assign the roles. These are playful parts you’re picking for a story — not statements about anyone. One person can play several roles, and nicknames or fictional names are completely fine.
Step 2: Add your workplace flavor
Short answers work best. The funnier and more specific, the better the story reads out loud.
Step 3: Make it ridiculous
This is the fun part. Absurd is good. Nonsense is better.

Host instructions
Read this part to the room before you begin.
- When you hear LEFT, pass your gift one person to your left. When you hear RIGHT, pass it one person to your right. Wait for each cue, and pass gently!
- Give one practice cue in each direction before starting.
- The story title and these instructions are not part of the game. Only begin passing when you announce that the story has started.
- Read slowly and pause after each bold direction. Don’t count words such as “alright” or “leftovers” as cues.
- After the final sentence, announce: “Stop passing!”
- Guests holding the designated gifts keep them. Confirm the number of gifts and any additional prizes with the organizer beforehand.
- For a larger group, use several smaller circles so passing stays manageable. Seated participation is always an option.
